I am taking part in the 2018 Multiple Sclerosis Brissie to the Bay cycle to raise awareness, and assist with funding for the MS Association. The funds donated will not only help with research but will make a meaningful and positive impact to change the lives of people currently living with Multiple Sclerosis.
Having experienced the first-hand effects of Multiple Sclerosis with the passing of my Mother in 2015, I will be riding for the third time in the Multiple Sclerosis Brissie to the Bay Cycle. My Mother, Leah Mills lived with MS for close to 20 years, and for the majority of that time enjoyed a rewarding and pleasant life.
Her final 18 months alive were just shocking. With little to no basic care available for people with MS other than the facilities with the association at Dutton Park, Mum, even with the highest medical insurance, was in and out of emergency wards, to nursing homes, to finally palliative care. Her life was cut short at the age of 52.
I ask for a donation of any level - and for all who support myself are invited to the post-ride 'Savages Bonanza' Cookup. Beverages, food and good times to be provided - all for a good cause.
